Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rates:
*PAYE: £20.85 per hour
*Umbrella/Ltd: £27.18 per hour
The RoleAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join a Local Authority legal team on a locum basis. This is a full-time, remote role with only occasional office attendance required.
You will join a small, supportive legal team delivering a wide-ranging commercial legal service to the authority, its partner District Councils, and a newly established Combined County Authority. The role offers varied, high-quality work and the opportunity to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities*Advising on a broad range of commercial contracts and procurement matters
*Drafting and reviewing services contracts, IT contracts, framework agreements, and grant agreements
*Supporting collaborative procurements and partnership arrangements
*Advising on subsidy control matters
*Working closely with internal departments to provide pragmatic, solution-focused legal advice
About YouTo be considered, you must have:
*A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE)
*Significant experience in contracts and procurement law within a Local Authority setting
*Strong knowledge of public sector governance and procurement frameworks
*The ability to work autonomously in a remote environment
*Eligibility to work in the UK
