English Teacher Required - SEMH Specialist School Are you a dedicated and experienced English Teacher with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? The Role This position involves delivering engaging and accessible English lessons to students who may have experienced difficulties in mainstream settings due to emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges. As the English Teacher, you will be responsible for:
* Planning and teaching English Language and Literature lessons tailored to individual needs
* Supporting pupils with literacy development, communication skills, and confidence
* Managing behaviour positively using trauma-informed and restorative approaches
* Building strong, trusting relationships with students who require additional support
* Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and external professionals
* Encouraging student progress both academically and emotionally
The Ideal Candidate To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
* Strong subject knowledge and experience teaching English
* Previous experience working within an SEMH school or specialist provision
* Excellent behaviour management and a calm, resilient teaching style
* A nurturing, patient, and flexible approach to meeting diverse needs
