We are currently looking for an Sewing Machinist to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position working on a specialist, niche product.
Working Hours
*45-hour week with a paid 1-hour lunch break (12:00–1:00pm)
*Standard working hours are 7:30am–4:30pm or 7:00am–4:00pm
*Most staff work 9½ hours Monday–Thursday to allow an early 2:00pm finish on Fridays
*Semi-flexible hours
The Role
*Operating standard flatbed industrial sewing machines
*Working from detailed drawings and specifications
*Producing high-quality items to a consistent standard
*All machinery, tools and PPE (if required) are provided
Experience & Skills Required
*Previous sewing machinist experience is essential
*Experience in upholstery or soft furnishings would be an advantage
*A very good standard of written and spoken English is required
*Ability to accurately follow technical drawings and specifications
*Confident working with metric measurements (cm & mm) and occasional imperial measurements
*Competent using a ruler and measuring accurately
Full training will be provided, as this is a specialist product, so direct experience in this field is not expected.
