Job Description:
Group Management Accountant (Fixed Term Contract – 12 Months)

Salary: Up to £55,000
Location: Liverpool, 1 day work from home
Job Type: 12 month fixed-term contract, potential to go permanent
Role Overview
This role sits within a centralised management accounting function that supports operational and strategic decision-making through high-quality reporting, analysis, and financial insight. Working as part of a supportive team, you will collaborate with colleagues at multiple levels across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Management Accounting
*Prepare monthly management accounting journals, reports, and supporting analysis.
*Support quarterly forecasting and annual budget cycles through journal preparation and analytical support.
*Partner with internal stakeholders to help them understand and manage their financial performance.
*Produce clear financial analysis, trend reporting, and exceptions reporting to support operational and strategic decisions.
*Develop and improve the efficiency, clarity, and quality of management information used across the business.
*Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role as required.
Project Support
*Contribute to ongoing finance transformation initiatives, including reviewing system changes and supporting user testing.
*Assist with documenting processes to strengthen consistency and improve handovers.
*Play a role in continuous improvement projects, focusing on reporting, system efficiency, and process enhancement.
*Support additional ad hoc projects as needed.
What You’ll Bring
*Strong management accounting experience, ideally supported by a recognised professional qualification (e.g., CIMA).
*Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to varied stakeholders.
*Adaptability and proactivity, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
*Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
*Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team structure.
*Solid IT skills; experience with ERP systems or financial software is beneficial but not essential.
*Experience in process mapping or documentation tools is advantageous but not required.
