SEN Teaching Assistant - Cotham, Bristol �?
Start: ASAP
Hours: Full-time or part-time
A welcoming primary school in Cotham is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistantto provide focused 1:1 support. This role is ideal for someone with strong SENexperience who is passionate about helping pupils access learning in asupportive, structured environment.
Role Overview �?
*Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs
*Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies
*Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation
*Support classroom routines, transitions and small-group work
Candidate Profile �?
*Previous SEN experience is essential
*Calm, patient and adaptable approach
*Strong communication and rapport-building skills
*Level 2/3 TA qualification advantageous
*Driving licence beneficial
*SEN training highly valued, including:
*Understanding Autism
*ADHD Awareness
*Team Teach / De-escalation Training
*Trauma-Informed Practice
*BSL or communication-based training
*Makaton (highly desirable for supporting communication needs)
