We are seeking a Buyer to support a Norfolk based client of ours. Working in a fast paced, short lead, rapid response, customer facing environment, the Buyer will be primarily responsible for sourcing site component and consumables, as well as leading smaller procurement initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
*To complete all purchase order administrative duties.
*To undertake supplier research and sourcing opportunities to achieve the best price.
*To liaise with suppliers and external parties.
*Negotiate and renew local procurement contracts.
*To undertake regular evaluation of all suppliers, ensuring best value for money is achieved.
*To hit savings targets, as determined by the business.
*Maintain appropriate stock levels.
*To identify process improvements.
*To manage and implement procurement projects.
Experience required:
*Previous experience in a busy procurement department is essential, within a large, complex manufacturing or process industry environment is ideal but not required
*Supplier negotiation experience
*Knowledge of procurement systems and processes including effective admin of Purchase Ordering
*Excellent commercial acumen
*Able to deliver system and process improvements
*Experience of dealing with senior, peer and sometimes challenging individuals
*Order expediting and progress chasing
*Experience in development of, and adherence to, procurement budgets and targets
*Experience of buying for manufacturing
*Excellent oral and written communication skills
*Ability to build rapport quickly with suppliers, contractors and key members of the team
*Confident advising on all aspects of procurement process including optimum solutions and effective sourcing decisions
Please note this role is not a remote role, you will be required to work on the outskirts of Norwich, in Norfolk.
