Learning Support Assistant ( LSA ) | SEMH | Dover
Are you passionate about supporting learners with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs? Do you thrive in environments where your empathy, resilience, and relationship-building really matter? Academics are recruiting for an inspiring special SEMH school in Dover seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant ( LSA ) to join their nurturing and inclusive team.
About the School:
This specialist SEMH school supports pupils aged 5-16 with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD and related challenges. The school’s culture prioritises:
* Respect, kindness and safety in all interactions.
* A nurturing and supportive environment where pupils can grow, feel understood, and make meaningful progress.
* High staff-to-pupil support allowing personalised learning and behavioural support.
Role Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support in class and during structured activities.
* Support pupils with SEMH needs to engage in learning, build self-confidence and manage behaviour positively.
* Assist with classroom tasks, adapting resources and approaches as needed
What we’re looking for:
* Empathetic, calm and resilient - able to build rapport quickly with pupils with complex needs.
* Confident using positive behaviour management rooted in relationship-based practice.
* A strong communicator with a collaborative mindset.
* Passionate about supporting inclusion, progress and wellbeing.
** £90 - £100 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only
** You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship
** On site parking included
** 5 Day per week availability
** Local to Dover / Surrounding Areas
