SANZA Teaching Agency are recruiting on behalf of a delightful special needs school in Newham. We are seeking reliable, committed and nurturing teaching assistants with experience supporting young people with additional needs to join their team.
About the school:
The school is a lovely, purpose- built facility that caters to students aged 4- 16 years with Autism (ASD). It is small and nurturing, with a warm community feeling.
About you:
*Previous experience with special needs, specifically Autism, is highly desirable
*Previous experience as a teaching assistant/learning support assistant
*Experience with specialist communication methods (Makaton, PECS, BSL, AAC devices, etc.) may be desirable
*Ability to encourages positive peer relationships and social development
*Ability to supports emotional regulation and coping skills
*Openness to training in Autism strategies, communication approaches, and behaviour support methods
*Ability to adjust approaches depending on pupils’ emotional or sensory needs.
