Academics are currently working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Colchester, rated "Good" by Ofsted, which is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their welcoming team on a maternity cover contract from April 2026.
Role Details * Location: SEN School in Colchester

* Start Date: April 2026 - Permanent role

* Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, Permanent

* Salary: M2-UPS3 (dependent on experience) + SEN allowance

Key Responsibilities * Plan and deliver personalised, engaging lessons tailored to the needs of KS2 pupils with autism and complex needs

* Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that supports pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development

* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff, to ensure consistent and holistic provision

The Ideal Candidate Will: * Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Have experience in SEN, particularly ASD and complex needs

* Have experience supporting pupils with autism or learning disabilities, ideally within a KS2 or primary setting
