Stock Controller
The Role
As Stock Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating stock movements using internal inventory systems. Working closely with Warehouse, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Finance teams, you’ll play a key role in minimising discrepancies, supporting audits, and ensuring stock is managed in line with company standards.
The role requires a hands-on approach, strong analytical skills, and the confidence to investigate and resolve stock issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
*Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to ensure availability while controlling excess inventory
*Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile results against system records
*Review and verify stock movements including receipts, dispatches, and work order completions
*Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, shortages, or variances promptly
*Manage stock disassembly processes where required
*Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to support timely replenishment
*Maintain accurate and comprehensive stock documentation and records
*Produce regular reports on inventory levels, discrepancies, and stock performance
*Monitor stock accuracy across all internal and external stock locations
*Implement, follow, and continuously improve stock control processes and safety standards
*Support and participate in internal and external stock audits
*Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure correct storage, handling, and organisation of stock
*Assist senior supply chain leadership with monthly stock write-off and scrap reporting in collaboration with Finance and Technical teams
*Provide guidance or training to colleagues on stock management procedures when required
Skills & Experience
*Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, or warehouse operations
*Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
*Confident using inventory management systems (experience with Sage X3 is advantageous but not essential)
*Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
*Strong numerical and analytical ability
*Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
*Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
*Physically able to carry out stock counts and warehouse-based tasks
