Job Description:
As Finance & Business Manager, you will lead the financial operations and core business systems across both the CIC and Foundation. Working closely with the CEO, Operations Manager and Fractional Finance Director, you’ll deliver accurate reporting, strong financial control, and compliant, efficient systems that support confident decision-making.
You’ll act as the internal lead for finance, HR administration and organisational compliance, combining technical expertise with commercial awareness and a collaborative approach.
Key Responsibilities:
*Financial Management
*Oversee day-to-day finance across both entities.
*Maintain accurate records in Xero.
*Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis and cashflow forecasts.
*Support budgeting and financial planning.
*Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds and oversee grant reporting.
*Lead year-end processes and manage external accountants/auditors.
*Prepare reports for the CEO, Board and funders.
Business & Compliance:
*Manage contracts, insurance, leases and key supplier relationships.
*Ensure compliance with Companies House, Charity Commission and HMRC requirements.
*Maintain the risk register and reporting calendar.
*Support value-driven, sustainable procurement.
*HR & Governance Support
*Administer payroll, pensions and HR records (with outsourced support).
*Support recruitment and onboarding processes.
*Maintain HR policies and procedures.
*Prepare Board and committee reports and contribute to financial sustainability discussions.
*Foster alignment and collaboration across both legal entities.
Person Specification:
*Experience managing finance in a charity, CIC or SME.
*Strong management accounting and cashflow skills.
*Confident user of Xero or similar systems.
*Understanding of restricted funding.
*Experience with payroll and HR administration.
*Knowledge of charity/CIC compliance requirements.
*Clear communicator with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
