Job Description:
Financial Controller
*Central London / Hybrid

I’m currently partnering with a dynamic and expanding UK consultancy business seeking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a commercially driven finance professional who thrives in an SME environment and is keen to play a pivotal role in enhancing financial performance and supporting strategic expansion. The role involves working closely with a select portfolio of hospitality clients, acting as a trusted finance partner to support their performance and growth.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial management, accurate reporting, and effective controls. You will work closely with the senior leadership team internally, while also partnering with hospitality clients to provide insightful analysis and strategic financial guidance.
Key Responsibilities
*Oversee day-to-day financial operations and manage a small finance team
*Prepare monthly management accounts and board reports
*Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
*Strengthen financial controls, systems, and processes
*Manage year-end processes and liaise with external advisors
*Ensure compliance with VAT, payroll, and statutory requirements
*Deliver commercial analysis to support business performance
*Act as a finance partner to a portfolio of hospitality clients
Candidate Profile
*ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
*Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
*Essential: Hospitality industry experience
*Practice background desirable
*Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical capability
*Experience within an SME and/or consultancy environment preferred
*Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating within a scaling business
*Confident communicator, able to partner effectively with senior stakeholders and clients
*Experience using Xero
*Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, people-focused approach
