Job Description:
We are currently recruiting two experienced Domestic Violence Specialists (IDVAs) in St Helens on behalf of our well-established social housing client, to support their Domestic Violence Service. These roles are minimum 3-month contracts, with competitive pay of up to £24 per hour.
Both positions are full-time (37 hours per week) and office-based, with some flexibility required to travel to different locations when needed, this may include meeting with clients, attending MARACs, or working alongside partner agencies.
Key responsibilities:
*Provide specialist support to victims of domestic abuse, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
*Complete DASH/MERIT risk assessments and develop robust safety and support plans.
*Maintain regular contact with clients, offering emotional and practical support.
*Attend and contribute to MARAC meetings where required.
*Triaging new referrals and providing immediate safety planning advice
*Manage and progress a caseload of clients, coordinating multi-agency support
*Support the wider duty function, including answering incoming calls and responding to self-referrals (phone and face-to-face).
*Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies to reduce risk and promote client safety.
*Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records in line with service standards.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Experience supporting victims of domestic abuse in an IDVA or similar role.
*Strong working knowledge of DASH/MERIT risk assessments, and relevant legislation including the Domestic Abuse Act and Family Act.
*Experience attending and contributing to MARAC.
*The ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
*A multi-agency working approach and excellent communication skills.
