We are partnering with a vibrant Blackpool Secondary School to recruit a subject specialist to join their Maths Department. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of Year 7 classes, providing high-quality instruction and numeracy support during the critical transition year. This role starts immediately after the February half-term and will run until the end of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities * Classroom Instruction: Lead and facilitate learning for Key Stage 3 (KS3) Maths classes, with a primary focus on Year 7.
* Numeracy Intervention: Deliver targeted Small Group Interventions to close attainment gaps in core numeracy.
* Curriculum Support: Assist the Head of Maths in developing engaging resources that align with the national curriculum.
* Classroom Management: Develop professional behaviour management techniques in a supportive, secondary school environment.
* Mentorship: Serve as a positive academic role model for students, encouraging a "Maths-positive" culture.
Requirements * Education: A Degree in Mathematics (or a highly related STEM subject).
* Aspirations: A genuine desire to progress into Secondary Teaching.
* Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex mathematical concepts for 11-12-year-olds.
* Reliability: Ability to commit to a full-time, long-term role in Blackpool.
