Job Description:
Overview
An experienced Windows Infrastructure Engineer is required to deliver complex infrastructure projects within a regulated, fast-paced environment. The role focuses on hybrid platform delivery across VMware and Microsoft Azure/AVS, with strong involvement in life cycle management, vulnerability remediation, HA/DR alignment, and service transition.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver Windows Server re-platforming, upgrade, and decommissioning across hybrid estates.
* Own project workstreams and provide regular stakeholder updates.
* Ensure compliance with internal standards, security policies, and governance controls.
* Support structured patching and vulnerability management programmes.
* Manage service transition, documentation, and operational handover.
* Align solutions with HA/DR requirements.
Required Experience * Strong engineering/project delivery experience in Microsoft environments.
* Advanced knowledge of: Windows Server, AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Certificate Services.
* Experience with phased patching and tiered environments.
* Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, firewall rules, proxy/direct access).
* Experience working in regulated environments.
Desirable * Azure IaaS/PaaS and hybrid connectivity experience.
* VMware & Azure/AVS exposure.
* ITIL/change management understanding.
* System Center (MECM/SCOM).
* AD migrations and M&A/divestiture projects.
