Aatom Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Rent Service Officer to work on behalf of a local authority. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong rent arrears management experience who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
The RoleAs a Rent Service Officer, you will play a key role within a busy Rent Service Team, responsible for maximising rent collection and effectively managing rent arrears across a designated patch of residential and non-residential properties.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Managing a caseload of rent accounts, ensuring timely action on arrears cases and adherence to the Pre-Court Action Protocol.
*Maximising rental income collection in a challenging economic environment.
*Providing clear advice and support to tenants, including vulnerable residents, and making referrals to appropriate support services.
*Engaging professionally with customers both face-to-face and over the phone, including handling difficult conversations with confidence and empathy.
*Identifying and sharing examples of best practice for arrears recovery.
*Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet team KPIs, deadlines, and service targets.
The PersonWe are looking for someone who is:
*Experienced in rent arrears recovery, housing management, or a similar customer-facing role.
*Knowledgeable in housing legislation, arrears processes, and rent collection methods.
*Competent in using Northgate and other housing management systems.
*Calm, professional, and resilient when dealing with challenging situations.
*Customer-focused, with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
*Highly organised, analytical, and able to manage competing priorities under pressure.
*Flexible, team-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality service.
Experience working in collections, customer services, or estate management would be advantageous.
