Reed Talent Solutions on behalf of our partner is looking for an experienced System Safety Engineer for a leading Transport organisation, in London to establish, maintain, and monitor an effective and efficient system safety and technical assurance regime. This role is crucial for managing engineering technical risk and safety activities across the organisation. The successful candidate will provide specialist technical services, ensuring the improvement of transport system operational performance in line with policies and technical strategies.


Day-to-day of the role:*Develop and maintain System Safety management procedures in line with corporate policy.
*Undertake System Safety risk assessments and act as the custodian of the Technical Assurance regime.
*Manage and collate required Technical Assurance documentation and inputs to the planning process to advocate for safety improvements.
*Review the impact of changes on the company’s Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) model in collaboration with the HSE team.
*Perform surveillance for compliance to processes and ensure their alignment with outcomes to requirements.
*Define competence requirements and accreditation for Safety Engineering and establish appropriate safety management training processes.


Required Skills & Qualifications:*Record of continuing professional development in System Safety or a related field.
*Basic understanding of System Safety engineering processes and Technical Assurance processes.
*Experience with safety tools and techniques for safety risk assessments.
*Knowledge of relevant local, British, and international standards.
*Understanding of engineering safety management and its application within the railway environment.
*Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent knowledge and experience.
*Ability to represent the organisation’s interests with external parties such as railways, standards bodies, and regulators.
