Interim Senior Accountant (German Speaking) | Global Media Business | London/Hybrid
Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a globally recognised brand consultancy in their search for an experienced Interim Senior Accountant (German Speaking) to join on a 6 month contract with the potential to transfer to permanent employment.
Operating internationally with a strong European footprint, the business is looking for hands-on finance support to strengthen reporting and controls across its German entity.
This role will suit a detail-oriented finance professional who is comfortable owning the month-end process, liaising with external advisors, and operating in a fast-paced professional services environment.
The Role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of the month-end close for the German entity, ensuring accurate reporting and strong financial controls. You’ll work closely with outsourced tax advisors and payroll providers while supporting core accounting operations within the wider finance team.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
*Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation, and maintenance of the asset register.
*Perform and review bank reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
*Review monthly payroll outputs, liaising with external providers as required.
*Coordinate with outsourced tax advisors on compliance matters and reporting requirements.
*Oversee AP processes, including vendor set-up controls and expense report reviews.
*Support ongoing improvements in financial controls and reporting consistency.
*Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
What We Need to See (Essential)
*Fluent German speaker (written and spoken).
*Proven experience managing month-end close in a multi-entity or international environment.
What We’d Like to See (Bonus)
*Prior experience with D365
*Experience working in Media/Professional Services/Consultancy
Day Rate: £375-£425 per day (likely Inside IR35)
Contract Length: Initial 6 months
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Central London (3 days in the office)
