Job Description:
Desian Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with ADHD in a welcoming and supportive primary school in Runcorn.
The role is part time 8.30am – 2.00pm Monday to Friday
The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 6 pupil on a one-to-one basis, providing tailored academic and emotional support to help them access the curriculum, remain engaged in learning, and prepare for the transition to secondary education.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD
*Support learning across the KS1 curriculum, particularly in core subjects
*Implement strategies to support focus, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
*Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
*Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
*Supporting with phonics interventions
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
*Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ADHD
*A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
*The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
*A calm, patient, and proactive approach
*A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
*Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
