Contract Type: Initial 6-Month Contract (Inside IR35)

Rate: Competitive day rate
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support day-to-day procurement activities at our site during a period of increased operational demand. This role ensures continuity of supply and stable operational performance within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities *Manage daily purchasing of materials, components, and services.
*Raise, track, and expedite purchase orders to meet production schedules.
*Maintain stock levels and support planning teams with material availability updates.
*Act as the main point of contact for allocated suppliers, monitoring performance and resolving issues.
*Support cost-saving initiatives and alternative sourcing options.
*Collaborate with production, planning, engineering, and quality teams to resolve supply constraints.
*Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems and produce basic procurement reports.
Skills & Experience *Purchasing or supply chain experience within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, automotive, or rail.
*Strong communication, negotiation, and supplier management capability.
*Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities.
*ERP/MRP experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
*Understanding of commercial procurement principles.
