PT or FT Payroll and Accounts Administrator, Harrogate | £28,500 per annum FTE |
28-35hrs/week, Office Based
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll and Accounts Administrator. This is a varied, hands-on role where payroll will be your main focus, alongside supporting the wider finance team with accounts administration.
The role is full-time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday or part time, a minimum of 28-30hrs/week), and fully office based, offering a supportive working environment and strong benefits.
You will take ownership of the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service to employees, while also assisting with day-to-day finance administration tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
Payroll
*Processing monthly payroll, including new starters, leavers, sickness absence, holiday pay, and maternity/paternity pay
*Administering SSP, SMP, and SPP schemes
*Submitting accurate monthly RTI submissions
*Completing monthly payroll reconciliations for review
*Providing guidance to staff on pay, tax, and National Insurance queries
*Administering employee benefits, including pensions
*Calculating and issuing P60s and P11Ds
Accounts & Finance Support
*Sales ledger administration
*Setting up direct bank payments and BACS
*Managing petty cash
*Supporting wider finance administration (training provided where needed)
Requirements
*A strong level of numeracy, educated to GCSE level (A-C) in Maths and English or equivalent
*Previous experience using payroll systems and payroll procedures
*Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel
*Strong administrative skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
*A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work well as part of a team
