I currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced freight operator to join a fast-growing logistics business specialising in road freight services between the UK and Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and customer-focused freight operator to join a dynamic company with strong growth ambitions and opportunities to develop across multiple freight modes.
The Role
We are seeking an all-round Freight Operator to manage day-to-day operations of road freight shipments while delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating shipments, building strong client relationships, and supporting the business as it expands into air and ocean freight services.
Key Responsibilities
*Coordinate and manage road freight shipments between the UK and Ireland
*Liaise with customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
*Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships
*Manage bookings, documentation, and shipment tracking
*Handle operational issues and provide effective solutions
*Support development of new business opportunities in air and ocean freight lanes
*Ensure compliance with relevant transport and customs procedures
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience in road freight operations is ideal but strong experience in air/ ocean freight will be considered
*Understanding of UK–Ireland freight movements
*Strong customer service and communication skills
*Organised with excellent attention to detail
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
*Proactive, adaptable, and commercially aware
