Electrical Technician
Location: Coventry
Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join a dynamic maintenance team. This role is critical in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical services across a diverse estate. You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnostics, repairs, and minor installation works on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
*Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations, ensuring timely and safe resolution.
*Carry out planned preventative maintenance and statutory compliance tasks, including:
*Periodic Inspection & Testing
*Emergency Lighting Testing
*Fire Alarm Testing
*Portable Appliance Testing
*Diagnose faults and determine appropriate solutions, escalating where necessary.
*Assist with installation and refurbishment projects, including minor power systems.
*Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
*Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and service documentation.
*Liaise with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to minimize disruption and deliver excellent customer service.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
*Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent experience in electrical building services (commercial, industrial, domestic).
*NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or Maintenance.
*City & Guilds qualifications including:
*18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
*Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations
*Strong understanding of statutory compliance and Health & Safety.
*Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet SLAs.
*Full, clean UK or EU driving license.
Desirable:
*Knowledge of fire alarm systems (BS 5839).
*Experience with LV/HV systems.
*Awareness of confined space entry and asbestos safety.
*Understanding of mechanical building systems.
