Job Description:
Housing Options Officer
*Job Type: Full-time (3 months contract)
*Location: Bolton Council
*Hourly Rate: £16.43 per hr paye
Bolton Council is seeking a dedicated Housing Options Officer to join our team for a three-month full-time contract. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality housing options and advice services to individuals and families in need, including the homeless and vulnerable households.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Assist in the delivery of the Housing Options & Advice Service, addressing the needs of those in urgent housing situations.
*Handle all aspects of homelessness presentations and casework, from initial contact and application through to assessment, decision-making, and provision of temporary accommodation.
*Work closely with internal and external agencies to provide housing options, prevent homelessness, and support the re-housing of affected individuals and families.
*Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of housing, homelessness, and related legislation, as well as local policies and procedures.
*Provide specialist advice and information on housing options, homelessness, and allocations to both internal and external customers and agencies.
*Assist and support other Homes for Bolton (HfB) staff in the delivery of comprehensive services to customers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in housing, homelessness services, or a related field.
*Strong understanding of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002, and related legislation.
*Ability to engage effectively with vulnerable customers and provide tailored advice and support.
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
*Ability to handle complex cases and make informed decisions with guidance from team leaders.
*Must have a Valid UK Driving Licence, and access to a vehicle as you will be out visiting Landlord and potential Tenants
*Hybrid Working 2/3 Days office based
