Job Description:
Credit Controller
*Annual Salary: £30,659
*Location: Bury St Edmunds
*Job Type: Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days from home)
We are seeking a dedicated Credit Controller to assist with the daily operations of our Credit Control Team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in credit control and general administration, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to providing excellent customer service.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assist with the overall operation of the Credit Control Team.
*Handle telephone inquiries effectively, directing calls to appropriate team members or departments.
*Manage your own ledger, overseeing customer accounts from setting credit limits to collecting payments or referring to third parties if necessary.
*Conduct credit checks and release orders for customers on referral.
*Investigate and document queries and disputes from customers and/or internal departments.
*Maintain accurate records and ensure all relevant paperwork and correspondence are filed correctly.
*Aim to exceed customer expectations by delivering excellent service and treating all customers fairly.
*Communicate with the team and senior members about any arising issues.
*Generate debtor reports for month-end and other ad hoc management reports.
*Proactively chase customers via telephone, email, and letter to reduce debtor days.
*Manage the credit control inbox, directing emails to the correct departments or individuals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in general administration and credit control.
*Confident and effective telephone manner.
*Highly organised and reliable.
*Proficient with PCs and various software applications.
*Numerate and literate with excellent communication skills across all levels.
*Educated to at least GCSE level.
