OA are recruiting for a Manufacturing Team Leader for a well established company in Hitchin
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead by example, support your team, and help drive continuous improvement across the value stream.
Location: Hitchin
Hours: Monday to Thursday 6am-3pm. Friday 6am-11am
Starting Salary: £20ph
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead and motivate a team to achieve daily production targets.
*Ensure work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures and 5S standards
*Plan and release work orders to meet demand.
*Monitor performance against the production plan and escalate issues where necessary
*Investigate problems, carry out root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
*Support daily SQDCG updates and track key performance indicators.
*Maintain accurate stock levels and support inventory control through audits and PI systems.
*Schedule raw materials using Kanban systems
*Work with Supply Chain to prevent shortages and delivery delays
*Support training and development of team members.
*Assist with absence management and disciplinary matters when required.
*Support engineering with prototype, refurbishment, and rework orders.
Experience required:
*Previous experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or similar environment.
*Experience managing people or leading improvement activities.
*Good communication skills and the ability to motivate others.
*A practical, hands-on approach with a focus on results.
*Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
