Job Description:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEN Tribunal Officer to manage a caseload of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal appeals within a Local Authority environment.
You will lead on the identification, analysis and management of complex SEND tribunal cases, prepare legal documentation, and represent the Local Authority at tribunal hearings where required. The role focuses on delivering a high-quality, solution-focused service to support children and families while reducing the need for formal appeals where possible.
Key Responsibilities*Manage a caseload of SEND Tribunal appeals from initial registration to resolution
*Prepare case statements, evidence bundles and reports
*Represent the Local Authority at Tribunal hearings
*Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and statutory timelines
*Work collaboratively with parents, schools, legal teams and professionals
*Support early resolution and mediation to avoid escalation
Requirements*Degree-level education or equivalent experience
*Strong experience within SEND and tribunal or legal frameworks
*Up-to-date knowledge of SEND legislation and processes
*Excellent advocacy, communication and negotiation skills
*Experience managing complex cases
*Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable*Local Authority SEND experience
*Experience representing cases at the Tribunal
