Cover Supervisor Southampton

Prospero Teaching is looking for confident, adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across the Southampton area. This role involves delivering pre-planned lessons, supervising classes in the absence of the teacher, and ensuring students remain focused and engaged throughout the school day.
This is a great opportunity for individuals with classroom experience, graduates considering a future in teaching, or those looking for flexible work within education. Assignments can be full-time, part-time or day-to-day depending on your availability and preference.

The Role:
Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive environment
Support students with tasks, queries, and staying on task
Work across KS3 and KS4 as needed
Provide cover at short notice or through pre-booked arrangements
Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies consistently

Ideal Candidate:
Experience managing a classroom or working with young people
Confident, adaptable, and reliable
Strong communication and behaviour-management skills
Positive and proactive in supporting student learning
Graduates or aspiring teachers encouraged to apply
Comfortable covering a range of subjects with provided work

Contract Details:
Position: Cover Supervisor
Location: Southampton
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full-time, part-time, or day-to-day
Pay: Up to £130 per day
Key Stages: KS3 & KS4

Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
Experience working with young people or in education settings
Classroom management experience preferred
Safeguarding training (provided if needed)

Eligibility:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Two references covering work with children or young people
