Job Description:
We are seeking an outstanding and dedicated SENCO to join our inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or current SENCO to lead and develop our provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
About the Role As SENCO, you will play a key strategic role in ensuring that all students receive the support they need to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with senior leaders, teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to promote inclusion and high-quality provision across the school.
Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
* Identify and assess students with special educational needs
* Develop and implement effective support plans
* Advise and support teachers to ensure inclusive classroom practice
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals
* Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
* Contribute to the strategic development of inclusion within the school
The Ideal Candidate Will Have * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* The National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it)
* Experience working with students with SEND in a secondary setting
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* A passion for inclusion and student success
