Maths Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Location: Durham
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Start Date: March 2026
A welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Durham is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Maths Teacher to join their dedicated team from March 2026 to cover a maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed teacher to inspire students and support strong academic progress across KS3 and KS4 in a supportive and forward-thinking department.
The Role:*Deliver well-structured, engaging Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum
*Teach a broad range of topics across KS3 and KS4, maintaining high expectations for all learners
*Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and achievement
*Differentiate effectively to meet a range of learning needs
*Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
*Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations
*Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
*Support enrichment activities or targeted interventions where required
Requirements:*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
*Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4
*Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
*A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student success
*The ability to quickly build positive relationships with students and staff
