Overview
A dynamic and growing group of businesses is seeking a part-time Management Accountant to join their collaborative Finance team. Supporting a small but busy division, this role offers wide exposure across multiple trading entities, a blend of technical management accounting and process oversight, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this position suits someone confident, organised, and hands-on, who enjoys variety and autonomy within a friendly, fast-moving environment.
This role is part-time, permanent, 25 hours per week worked across Monday–Friday, with hybrid working available.
Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.
Duties
*Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts across multiple group entities
*Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and income statement reviews
*Ownership of the month-end close process, including intercompany recharges, management fees, depreciation, accruals and prepayments
*Support the annual budgeting cycle and ongoing forecasting activity
*Management of daily cashflow reporting, alongside short and medium-term cashflow forecasting
*Preparation and submission of VAT returns, including Construction VAT
*Oversight of direct debit collections, monitoring performance and cash receipt trends
*Approval and control of supplier and operational payment runs
*Supervision of purchase and sales ledger functions, ensuring accurate VAT and CIS treatment
*Maintenance of strong financial controls and timely processing of all transactional activity
*Identification and implementation of process improvements to strengthen controls and enhance reporting quality
*Line management, mentoring and development of the Finance Officer
*Assistance with year-end reporting and liaison with external advisers
*Provision of ad hoc financial analysis and project support to senior leadership
*Active contribution to the continuous improvement of finance systems, processes and reporting standards
What we’re looking for
A successful candidate will ideally have circa 2+yrs experience with Management Accounts and be fully/part qualified in either CIMA, ACA or ACCA.
