Teaching Assistant - SEN Support

Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September
Pay: £1,750 - £2,200 per month
Veritas Education are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hackney, East London, to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from the start of the new academic year.
The school is diverse and community-focused, committed to delivering a broad, balanced and enriching curriculum. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and independence. The school works closely with families to support both academic progress and personal development.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant with a focus on SEN support, you will:
*Provide targeted 1:1 support for pupils with SEN

*Support academic progress, social development and independence

*Deliver small-group and individual interventions

*Build positive relationships and promote high expectations

*Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

Support for Teachers
You will also:
*Help maintain an organised and purposeful learning space

*Support lesson delivery under the teacher’s direction

*Assist with resources and classroom organisation

*Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback

Essential Requirements
*GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent)

*Experience working with children in a school or SEN setting

*A patient, proactive and resilient approach

Desirable
*Experience supporting ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs

*A degree in Education, Psychology or related field
