Job Description:
Tenancy Support Officer
*Pay Rate: £16.44 PER HR PAYE
*Location: Trafford Council
*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (5 months)
Trafford Council are looking for a dedicated Tenancy Support Officer to join our team. This role is essential in assisting clients with an offending history to find accommodation and support them in maintaining their tenancy by empowering them with the skills needed for independent living within the community.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide in-home support to vulnerable clients, empowering them with the necessary skills to lead an independent life and maintain their tenancy.
*Conduct comprehensive support assessments, develop holistic support plans, and hold review meetings for clients from various challenging groups.
*Facilitate the smooth transition of new refugees from supported accommodation into mainstream society and assist in the return of failed asylum seekers.
*Work with the Home Office to manage a caseload of asylum seekers/refugees, providing a holistic support service including advice, information, and guidance.
*Support the successful integration of adults and families granted asylum by addressing homelessness, rough sleeping, poor health, economic hardship, and social isolation while improving English language proficiency.
*Engage proactively with asylum seekers and refugees to assist with finding accommodation and accessing essential services.
*Develop effective working relationships with colleagues, partners, and key stakeholders to support the delivery of services.
*Promote and support customer involvement and engagement in clients’ communities and services.
*Coach and empower clients to independently manage life skills, including rent arrears, property condition, skills and works, health, and income maximisation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*1-2 years’ experience in a similar role delivering homelessness prevention, resettlement, and housing-related support services.
*Proven experience working within a multi-functional team and with partners to deliver services to a diverse community.
*Experience in successfully meeting individual set targets for key tenancy support areas such as tenancy sustainment, financial inclusion, health, education, and employment.
*Strong drive, determination, and excellent relationship skills.
