Payroll Specialist - 4 Month Temporary Contract
Immediate Start Preferred
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a busy payroll function on a 4-month temporary basis. This role will play a key part in supporting payroll operations during a significant business transition, including involvement in a large-scale redundancy programme.
This position would suit a payroll professional who is confident working in fast-paced environments, has strong legislative knowledge, and has hands-on experience managing payroll activities linked to redundancies.
Key Responsibilities:*Support the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees

*Take a leading role in payroll activities relating to a large-scale redundancy programme, including statutory payments, severance calculations, and compliance with employment legislation

*Manage intercompany recharging and ensure accurate allocation of payroll costs

*Ensure compliance with tax regulations, pension schemes, and statutory deductions

*Prepare and submit payroll reports to Finance and HR

*Respond to employee queries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits

*Collaborate with HR and Finance to maintain accurate employee data and cost allocations

*Ensure eligible employees are enrolled in the company pension scheme

*Provide payroll data for Life Insurance, Private Health Insurance, and P11D reporting

*Produce regular and ad-hoc reports (e.g. Gender Pay Gap, Man Hours, Overtime)

Essential Criteria:*Demonstrable experience managing payroll for large-scale redundancy programmes

*Experience with intercompany recharging and payroll cost allocation

*Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements

*Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software (ADP experience highly desirable)

*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

*Ability to work to strict deadlines and remain calm under pressure

*Strong organisational and time-management skills

*Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
