Credit Controller
Full-Time | £28,000 + Benefits | Hybrid Working Available
I’m working with a leading organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced Credit Controller to join its Major Business Credit team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys managing large, complex customer portfolios and thrives in a target-driven environment.
The Role
Your primary focus will be the effective collection, management, and recovery of debt across a defined portfolio of major business accounts. You’ll be working in a highly collaborative team, where accuracy, strong communication, and a methodical approach are key to success.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage debt collection across a portfolio of high-value business accounts.
*Administer credit processes in line with internal policies and departmental procedures.
*Review and prioritise ledger debt daily to maximise cash collection.
*Process and collect manual Direct Debits, taking immediate action on any rejections.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal departments.
*Escalate problem accounts and propose next steps where required.
*Resolve customer issues promptly in collaboration with other teams.
*Provide cover across additional ledgers when required.
*Ensure all activities consider relevant HSE standards and risk controls.
*Contribute to achieving departmental monthly and annual targets.
What My Client Is Looking For
*A minimum of 2 years’ experience in credit control or a similar role.
*Strong knowledge of credit processes and best practice.
*Excellent organisational skills with a logical, methodical approach.
*Confident communication style and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
*Proven ability to build strong customer and internal relationships.
*A proactive attitude with the ability to take accountability for your workload.
