Head of Department – Private Client
*Annual Salary: £55k - £65k (DOE)
*Location: Bristol/Somerset

Our client is seeking a Solicitor or Legal Executive with over 4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to lead their Private Client department. This role is ideal for a candidate with comprehensive experience in leadership and management within a legal setting, aiming to drive success and maintain high standards of compliance and efficiency.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage the daily operations of the department, including monitoring and distribution of matters.
*Supervise the fee-earning work undertaken by junior members of the team.
*Manage support services for the team, ensuring all members have the resources they need to perform effectively.
*Ensure that fee earners meet their individual targets and maintain orderly and up-to-date files, including electronic files.
*Adhere to the company’s policies on file management and complete time recording and other management records as required.
*Facilitate cross-referral of work and clients within the company.
*Ensure compliance with the company’s policies, including Lexcel compliance.
*Manage the financial aspects of the department, including cash flow through efficient billing and payment procedures.
*Identify and develop fee-earning opportunities and lead the department’s marketing and business development efforts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of 4 years PQE.
*Proven experience in managing a Private Client department or similar.
*Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
*Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
*Strong financial acumen and experience in managing departmental budgets.
*Commitment to compliance with all legal standards and company policies.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong client relationships.
