Job Description:
As a member of the Finance leadership team, the Finance Manager is a key role, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration. This role is responsible for overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate financial data, strong governance, effective controls, and efficient processes are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
*Develop and lead a high-performing transactional finance team to support the operations of a large multinational business across multiple brands.
*Ensure all transactional finance activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
*Manage month-end close processes for AP and AR, ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet.
*Strengthen financial controls by maintaining and improving policies and procedures.
*Drive operational improvements through automation initiatives and system optimisation.
*Collaborate with internal teams such as Finance, Buying, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, and E-commerce to align with business needs.
*Mitigate cash flow risks by managing supplier payments and customer collections effectively.
*Facilitate internal and external audits by ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
*Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) like invoice processing times, debtor days, payment accuracy, and cash allocations.
*Contribute to system implementations, upgrades, and process improvement projects to enhance efficiency.
Requirements:
*Immediately available or with short notice to join a new role.
*Experienced managing large-scale transactional finance operations within retail or consumer-focused businesses.
*Demonstrated leadership skills in motivating, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
*Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and UK VAT regulations (Part-qualified CIMA or equivalent).
*Proficient in ERP systems with a track record of driving process improvement initiatives.
*Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
*Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
*Proven expertise in driving continuous improvement, implementing best practices, and understanding medium to large business processes.
*Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
*High levels of determination, resilience, persistence, ambition, and dedication to achieving goals.
