About the Role
A welcoming and supportive specialist school in Huddersfield is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their highteam. This role involves working with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, and SEMH.
The school is committed to providing a nurturing, structured environment where every child can succeed both academically and personally. Youll play a key part in creating personalised learning experiences and ensuring each pupil reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons based on individual EHCP targets
Foster a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom environment
Work collaboratively with a team of experienced SEN Teaching Assistants
Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, families, and external agencies
Contribute to wholeSEN strategies and behaviour support approaches
Use creative and adaptive teaching methods to meet a variety of learning needs
What Were Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) essential
Experience teaching pupils with SEN in mainstream or specialist settings
Ability to manage behaviour with a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A passion for inclusive education and supporting young people with diverse needs
Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
