Temporary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Northumberland. This full-time role will be based in a Year 2 classroom, supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and development. Duties of this role will include classroom support, lunchtime cover and 2 nights after-school club support (flexible on which days)

This is a temporary position until Easter, with a possibility of extension until the end of the summer term, depending on funding and school need.

Key Responsibilities
*Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of high-quality learning.
*Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress.
*Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
*Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
*Providing pastoral support to pupils and encouraging positive behaviour.
*Contributing to assessment and pupil records as required.
About You
*Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in an educational setting.
*Hold a relevant qualification (or have strong equivalent experience).
*Are confident supporting pupils across Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2.
*Have a nurturing approach and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
*They are reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
