Teaching Assistant - BS35, South Gloucestershire
Start: ASAP
Hours: Part-time - Monday to Friday, mornings only
A friendly and supportive school in the BS35 area is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide consistent support within a KS2 classroom. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is passionate about helping pupils thrive in a structured, encouraging environment.
Role Overview �?
*Provide general classroom support across the KS2 year group
*Work closely with the class teacher to deliver differentiated activities
*Help pupils remain focused, engaged and confident in their learning
*Assist with group tasks, interventions and daily classroom routines
*Support a positive learning atmosphere built on patience and encouragement
Candidate Profile �?
*Previous experience supporting pupils in KS2 is highly desirable
*Calm, adaptable and proactive approach
*Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
*Level 2/3 TA qualification advantageous
*Experience with phonics, reading interventions or KS2 curriculum support is beneficial
Additional training valued, including:
*Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
*Behaviour management strategies
*Trauma-informed practice
*Communication-based training (e.g., BSL, Makaton)
*Team Teach or de-escalation training
