Are you a hands-on operations leader who thrives in fast-paced, seasonal retail environments? We’re partnering with a growingretailer to appoint an experienced General Manager to lead their high-volume DC operation.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the seamless, safe and cost-effective movement of products, to both retail stores and e-commerce customers.
The Role As General Manager, you will take full ownership of day-to-day operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and service excellence across all warehouse activities.
You will be responsible for:
* Overseeing all DC operations: goods-in, storage, stock control, picking, dispatch and returns

* Managing seasonal peaks

* Leading stock accuracy across a diverse and complex SKU profile

* Delivering B2B store replenishment and B2C e-commerce fulfilment in line with SLAs

* Driving continuous improvement across warehouse layout, racking and operational flow

* Managing third-party carriers to ensure timely, damage-free delivery

* Upholding robust HSE standards

* Analysing KPIs and operational data to drive performance and cost efficiencies

* Collaborating closely with buying, merchandising and retail teams to optimise forecasting and space planning

* Supporting automation, digital transformation and sustainability initiatives

Leadership & Culture You’ll lead and develop a team of warehouse managers, supervisors and operatives, fostering a culture built on:

This is a highly visible role requiring strong communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally.
What We’re Looking For * Proven experience in warehouse or distribution management within retail or 3PL

* Proven leadership of medium-to-large teams in high-volume environments

* Strong WMS and inventory management expertise

* Deep understanding of health & safety, compliance and stock accuracy

* Budget ownership and cost control experience

* Experience managing seasonal volatility and changing customer demands
