Job Description:
Lecturer / Tutor for Access to HE Social Science
*Location: Somerset
*Job Type: Full-time
*Salary: £30,064 - £38,754 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
*Hours: 37 hours per week, all year round
We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer / Tutor to teach and manage the Access to HE Social Science programme, focusing on Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Counselling, and Health Studies. This role also involves teaching and assessing the Social Sciences on the Access to HE Nursing and Midwifery Programme and the online Access to HE Programmes.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Coordinate the effective delivery of the Access to HE Social Science Programme.
*Monitor and track learners’ achievements and progress using Gradetracker.
*Regularly update learning plans in liaison with the Access to HE Coordinator.
*Ensure high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment in line with Partnership expectations.
*Plan, prepare, and deliver highly effective lessons using a variety of teaching methods.
*Develop and quality assure course and delivery materials to ensure compliance with the awarding body and college standards.
*Manage and conduct applicant interviews and 1:1 tutorials for the Access to HE Social Science course.
*Engage in promotional and marketing activities as required, including open events and parents evenings.
*Attend staff development days and actively engage in ongoing professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in teaching Access to HE courses, with a specific focus on Social Sciences.
*Strong organisational and coordination skills to manage course delivery and compliance.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
*Ability to use educational technology and systems such as Gradetracker, Promonitor, ProWeb, and Dashboard.
