Job Description:
We are delighted to be partnering with a highly respected premium lifestyle brand as they enter an exciting phase of strategic growth. Together, we are seeking an experienced Head of Merchandising to lead their merchandising function, shape future collection strategy, and ensure commercial success across all channels.
As Head of Merchandising, you will take full ownership of the product lifecycle—from initial concept and collection architecture through to forecasting, trading, and bringing products to market.
You will create a clear, scalable merchandising framework, ensuring every collection is commercially sound, brand-aligned, and built with purpose. Working cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, Production, Retail, e-Commerce, Finance, and Marketing, you’ll bring structure, clarity, and governance to how collections are planned, bought, priced, and launched.
This is a senior, high-impact leadership role where you will influence strategic direction, guide seasonal trading decisions, and ensure the brand continues to grow sustainably and customer-first.
Key Responsibilities
*Define and lead the merchandising strategy aligned to brand and commercial goals.
*Establish governance, process clarity, and effective decision-making frameworks.
*Lead and develop a high-performing merchandising team.
Collection Architecture & Assortment
*Shape collection structure, balancing core continuity with seasonal innovation.
*Partner with Design to ensure collections are creatively compelling and commercially viable.
*Approve pricing, margin strategy, category mix, and buy frameworks.
*Make considered decisions on materials, lifecycle longevity, and sustainability.
*Use customer insight, sales performance, and market intelligence to guide product direction.
*Embed insight throughout the product journey from planning to in-season trading.
Buying, Planning & Inventory Governance
*Oversee buying, forecasting, and inventory strategies across Retail, Digital, and Wholesale.
*Govern OTB, WSSI, stock health, and risk management.
*Approve reorders, markdowns, and in-season price decisions.
*Own pricing and margin governance across all channels.
*Partner with Finance on budgets, COGS, and cash-flow implications.
*Lead the wholesale merchandising strategy, including assortments and pricing architecture.
*Work closely with wholesale partners on seasonal buys and performance reviews.
*Lead seasonal critical paths and ensure seamless product launches.
*Align availability, storytelling, marketing, and visual execution.
*Guide Visual Merchandising strategy to deliver a premium, consistent in-store experience.
Experience & Skills
*10+ years’ senior merchandising experience within premium or luxury goods.
*Strong understanding of product lifecycles, carry-over models, materials, and margins.
*Proven leadership across merchandising, buying, planning, trading, and VM.
*Highly commercial with strong financial acumen and advanced Excel capability.
*Confident decision-maker with strategic thinking and operational rigour.
*Comfortable influencing across senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Who You Are
A strategic, commercially driven leader with deep product passion. You thrive in a growth environment, understand the premium customer, and balance creativity with commercial discipline.
