About the RoleWe are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Longton, Preston. This role involves providing tailored support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive in the school environment. This is a maternity cover role with possible long term opportunities. May need to Drive.
Key Responsibilities*Provide individualised support to a designated pupil with SEND, both in and out of the classroom.
*Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions and adapt learning materials.
*Assist with developing the pupil’s confidence, social skills, and emotional well-being.
*Implement strategies from Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
*Promote positive behaviour and a nurturing, inclusive environment.
*Build strong relationships with staff, parents, and external professionals.
