Job Description:
Senior Town PlannerLocation: Cardiff Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading integrated placemaking consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their growing Planning Team based in Cardiff.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take on a key role within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, working with a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients including education providers, healthcare organisations, developers, and housebuilders.
The Role As a Senior Town Planner, you will take the lead on a broad range of projects across the planning process, including:
* Residential developments
* Commercial schemes
* Education and healthcare projects
* Mixed-use regeneration
* Energy and infrastructure developments
* Industrial projects
You will work closely with in-house urban design and landscape teams to deliver planning strategies that not only meet policy requirements but also contribute to the creation of sustainable, high-quality places.
Key Responsibilities * Leading the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
* Managing planning projects from inception through to determination
* Undertaking site appraisals and development feasibility studies
* Preparing high-quality planning statements and reports
* Liaising with Local Planning Authorities, stakeholders, and consultants
* Attending client meetings and site visits
* Supporting and mentoring junior members of the planning team
* Contributing to planning strategy and project delivery
Candidate Requirements * Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
* MRTPI Chartered or working towards Chartership
* Strong understanding of the UK planning system
* Demonstrable experience managing planning applications
* Excellent project management and report writing skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Proactive approach within a client-focused consultancy environment
