*Start Date: April 2026
*Salary: £170.00 to £260.00 (In line with your current pay scale)
Secondary Teacher of English - Hythe
Academics in Canterbury are currently working with a large secondary school in Hythe who are actively seeking to appoint a Teacher of English. This is a full time English role to start after the Easter holidays - the success candidate will be joining an established department. In return, you will receive state of the art resources including computer suites, schemes of work and the option to complete the many CPD courses the school is currently offering, both internally and externally. You will be paid the daily equivalent in line with the Teacher Main Pay Scale.
The school welcome applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers. The ability to also deliver Media Studies would be desirable but not essential.
For this role, applicants who apply must:
*Hold the relevant teaching qualification in English (i.e PGCE)
*Have experience and knowledge of delivering English lessons within the national curriculum and to have a proven track record of working with students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
*Be able to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities.
*Have strong behaviour management with excellent subject knowledge.
*Hold a current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or to be prepared to apply for a new DBS via Academica (DBS Cost Applies).
