An established and growing accountancy practice in the North East is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its team based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to manage a varied portfolio of clients while playing a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting business growth.
The RoleYou will work closely with a diverse range of small and medium-sized businesses, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities:*Preparation and review of statutory year-end accounts
*Managing Corporation Tax, VAT, and Self-Assessment compliance
*Producing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
*Providing financial analysis and business performance insights
*Supporting client decision-making through clear financial reporting
*Mentoring and reviewing work of junior team members
*Contributing to internal process improvements
About You*ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified (or finalist)
*Previous experience within an accountancy practice preferred
*Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations
*Confident in client-facing environments
*Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
*Experience with accounting software
*Highly organised with strong analytical skills
*Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
