Business Intelligence BI Developer

To support the business by conducting full lifecycle process of developing reporting data. Including scoping requirements, design and implementation of data reporting capabilities and analytical information.
The role will also provide support to the IT management team with internal information system support such as access management and good housekeeping practices to maintain the highest possible quality of information management.


Main Tasks and Objectives


Design, Develop, and Maintain BI Solutions:
*Create and manage BI and analytics solutions, including dashboards and reports.
*Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.
*Design, build, and deploy BI solutions e.g. Power Bi, Visual studio (SSRS, SSIS).
*Use best practice when developing SQL coding such as code notes and version control processes.


Data Handling and Transformation:
*Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into the BI database.
*Ensure data consistency and integrity across different platforms. e.g. Odata feed
*Filter and "clean" legacy data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems


Collaboration and Integration:
*Work collaboratively with teams to integrate new data and ensure data consistency.
*Translate business needs into technical specifications.


Visualization and Reporting:
*Present information through reports and visualizations.
*Develop and update technical documentation.


System Maintenance and Improvement:
*Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
*Regularly provide updates and improvements to existing BI systems.
*Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.


Compliance and Security:
*Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.


Data Warehousing:
*Design, develop, and maintain data warehouse architecture to meet business analysis and reporting needs.
*Implement ETL processes for data intake from internal and external sources, ensuring data verification and quality checks.
*Optimize data warehouse infrastructure for performance and scalability.


Other Duties:
*Support management with best practice use of reporting systems
*Work with management to prioritise business and information needs
*In addition to the above duties the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances.

*Continuous improvements are made to business efficiencies through good quality reporting data
*Users receive a friendly, professional service when there are development requests submitted
*Company reports are reliable and when necessary documented
