Job Description:
We’re recruiting for a forward-thinking company in Richmond, North Yorkshire, seeking a proactive SHEQ Manager to oversee Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality activities. Key Responsibilities:
*Develop, implement, and enforce SHEQ policies that ensure compliance with legal and industry standards
*Conduct risk assessments, manage non-conformance, and implement corrective and preventative actions
*Coordinate employee safety inductions and ongoing training programs
*Ensure compliance with SHEQ-related accreditations (e.g., Achilles UVDB, ISO9001, ISO14001) and manage audits
*Investigate incidents or accidents and oversee worker’s compensation claims where necessary
*Capture, analyse, and report SHEQ performance data to drive improvement
*Collaborate with operational teams to integrate SHEQ considerations across all projects and operations
*Maintain, review, and continuously improve SHEQ documentation, processes, and procedures
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
*Professional qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH
*Proven experience in SHEQ management, ideally in the Water or Construction sectors
*Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
*Familiarity with relevant industry standards and environmental regulations
Desired Attributes:
*Hands-on and proactive, able to support all areas of the business
*Meticulous attention to detail to maintain high standards of safety and quality
*Confident problem-solver, able to identify issues and implement effective solutions
Additional
Salary: Day rate on a self employed basis or a permanent contract
