Job Opportunity: Project Liaison Officer - Islington Council
Adecco is recruiting this role on behalf of Islington Council.
Rate:
*PAYE: £25.12 per hour
*Umbrella: £33.22 per hour
Contract: Temporary
Hours: 35 per week, Monday to Friday
Workstyle: Hybrid: two days per week onsite, including meetings, site visits, and resident engagement
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Project Liaison Officer to join Islington Council’s Housing Property Services, working within the Mechanical, Electrical & Lift (M&E) Capital Programme Delivery team.
You will lead on all non-technical project communications, ensuring residents, internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders receive clear, accurate and timely information.
This role is central to delivering a positive resident experience during major works programmes.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
*Preparing and issuing newsletters, resident updates and written project communications.
*Managing and responding to Stage 1 complaints relating to works carried out by the M&E team.
*Coordinating responses to enquiries from elected members, senior managers, and internal departments.
*Working closely with contractors’ Resident Liaison Officers and internal teams (Home Ownership, Building Control, Energy Services, etc.).
*Organising and analysing resident satisfaction surveys and reporting on outcomes.
*Chairing and minuting resident meetings, including out-of-hours evening events.
*Supporting access-related legal processes when required.
*Using Oneserve and NEC systems to manage resident and project information.
About You - Essential Requirements
You will need to demonstrate:
*Degree-level education or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
*Experience working in the housing sector, ideally social housing.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex information into clear messaging.
*Strong capability using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Power BI experience is desirable.
*Confidence working with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
*Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and remain self-motivated.
*High emotional intelligence and awareness of local political sensitivity.
*Willingness to attend evening resident meetings and work collaboratively across council departments.
